September 2015 Publisher's Note

In the song The September of My Years, Frank Sinatra sang these lyrics:

One day you turn around and it’s summer

Next day you turn around and it’s fall

And the springs and winters of a lifetime

What ever happened to them all?

This seems especially true in Maine because our summers are short and seem to fly by. Fortunately, Maine tends to have mild temperatures in September, making it a great month to be out and about. Plus, we have another reason to celebrate in September... Maine Seniors Day!

Maine Seniors Day is the second Saturday of every September and this year it falls on the 12th. So treat yourself! Or maybe someone or some organization, will reach out to you in a way that thanks you for all you have done. At MAINE SENIORS Magazine we know the value of seniors to our way of life here in Maine.

September also is the beginning of fall and is a nostalgic season. As we reflect, we should think of all of the things which we have done, as well as those things we would like to do. Read “A Salute to Maine’s Seniors” where we highlight some of our many “Prime Movers” and hopefully, you will find inspiration to maximize your fullest potential as a “senior partner” because only you can make it “the Prime of Your Life”!

Please note that our staff works hard on each issue to ensure a variety of enjoyable, informative and inspirational stories. We are proud to provide this premium quality publication for each and every one of our readers. However, this would not be possible without our advertisers. They feel, as we do, that Maine’s seniors should be recognized with a Maine Seniors Day and on every day of the year.

Thank you to all of our senior partners!
